Paula Dudek Newlan
Paula Dudek Newlan, 68, passed away quickly and unexpectedly at home in Clinton TN on January 18, 2022. Paula was born in Superior WI to Helen Podgorak Dudek and Joseph Dudek on October 28, 1953. She graduated from Superior high school, U W LaCrosse, and University of Northern Colorado. She worked in Duluth MN and Denver CO as a supervisor of special needs adults. Paula later received her Master’s degree in Special Education and taught as a special education teacher in Colorado and Tennessee. Paula spent her life caring for others and so continued to in her death, as she had arranged to donate her organs and tissues to help others.
Paula lived in Colorado, Ohio, and Tennessee but she always considered Superior to be her home. Paula loved to tell stories and was the life of the party many times. Her northern accent would always bring up the question “Where are you from?” and she was proud to say northern Wisconsin. Paula was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan (even though she did not know much about football) as she loved to cheer for her home and keep involved with her football loving husband.
Paula was a devoted wife, proud mother, and friend to many. Paula is survived by her husband Jim Newlan of Clinton, TN; sons Matt Newlan of Clinton, TN and Shawn Newlan of Atlanta, GA; mother Helen Dudek of Superior, WI; sister Carol Spencer and husband Frank of Woodbine, MD; sister-in-law Carol DeLaCruz of Peoria, IL; brother-in-law Ed Newlan and wife Terry of East Peoria, IL; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held in Superior WI at a later date.
