Paul Christian Gurtner, of Knoxville, TN, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Paul was born October 17, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and worked with Nevada Power Company for 43 years. In 2007, he retired and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an United States Army veteran and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Margaret Gurtner; his daughter, Karon Proctor West; and brother-in-law, James Ward. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Gurtner; daughter and husband, Kathy Parnell (Doug); Sister, Martha Ward; Grandchildren, Matthew Parnell, Tiffani Smith, and Robert Cook; Nephews, Regis Ward (Christina), Robert Ward (Betty Ann), and Jeffrey Ward; and many other cousins, great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews. A private celebration of life will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
