GANGONE, Larry – 81 – Larry passed away on March 18th , 2021, at his home in
Knoxville. He was born on April 6th , 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. Larry
spent his early years growing up in Riverside, NJ in a large Italian family,
the fifth of seven brothers and sisters born to Frank & Anne Gangone.
He served in the U. S. Army for 3 years (1957-1959), working as a heavy
equipment mechanic, and was stationed in Korea.
In 1978, Larry left New Jersey for south Florida, with dreams of the
Florida sun. He resided in in Florida for many years, which is where he
met his wife Tracy in 1987, wedding in 1994. In 2005, they made the
decision to relocate to east Tennessee and have fondly called Knoxville
their home since that time.
Larry was a lover of animals, both big and small. He has been known to
raise a baby bird to flight and has always enjoyed the companionship of
his dog Molly as well as a cat, Katie.
Although Larry bravely battled health issues for the past five years, he
never complained, and never gave up hope for a better day.
Larry is survived by wife Tracy of Knoxville, who adored him and
provided care to him over the years of his failing health. Also survived
by a daughter Lisa Alley (Randy) of Hartwell, GA, a son, William
Gangone (Michelle), Lake Worth, FL, as well as four grandchildren,
Stephen, Nicole (Michael), Zachary and Riya, as well as two great
grandchildren, Lily and Miya. Larry was preceded in death by one son,
Larry Gangone, Jr. in 1981.
A celebration of Larry’s life will take place on April 10 th , 2021, at the
