David Wayne Foy

David W. Foy, Ph.D., passed away at his home in Knoxville, TN, on September 18, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Patty, his four children: Patrick, Danny, Lizzy, and Ben, and his brother, Dale, a resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi.

David was born on July 19, 1944, in New Orleans, LA. He was the son of Baptist Minister and his wife, Aaron and Elaine Foy. David enjoyed a long career as a clinical psychologist in Jackson, Mississippi, and in Pasadena and Malibu, California – eventually retiring as a professor of clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. He was an accomplished academic author and well-known expert in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other combat related issues.

David has always been an avid sports participant and fan and excelled in track and football throughout his time at Pass Christian High School. He attended Mississippi College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he became a committed USM football fan. This continued throughout his entire life.

Dr. Foy’s graveside memorial service will be held at the Biloxi V.A. National Cemetery at 11 A.M. on September 30, 2022.
