David “Herschel” Williams, 71, of Rogersville TN, passed away on December 22, 2022. Herschel was born on August 15, 1951 to Lonzo and Mary Francis Williams. Number 6 of 8 children, he was raised in a music loving home learning to play the guitar and banjo at a young age. Herschel was a talented musician, but his true passion was playing the banjo. He traveled the United States playing with his brothers, friends, The Larkin Brothers as well as others. After graduating from Rogersville High School in 1969, Herschel joined the Air force where he became an instrument technician leading to his career as an electrician and member of the IBEW.

Herschel is preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Mary Francis Williams; brothers, Lonnie, Charlie, Larry, Kim, Dwight; sister, Linda; and granddaughter, Katie Grace Crosby.

Herschel is survived by his daughter, Misty Dawn (Lynn) Crosby;  grandson, Grant Crosby; sister, Mary Ellen(Bill) Ramsbey; sister in laws: Nancy Williams, Brigitte Williams, and Phyllis Williams; as well as nieces and nephew.
