Betty Willox Mitchell, age 77, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC and Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Friday, November 18, 2022 surrounded by family.
She was a 1963 graduate of Young High School and retired from Century 21 Broadhurst of Myrtle Beach. She was a devoted Christian follower of One Life Church in Powell, TN. Betty enjoyed sewing, painting, spending time at the beach and lake, and was a former Director of The Tennessee Cinderella Scholarship Program.
Betty was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Thomas (TV) Van Mitchell, Sr. and her parents Marshall and Hazel Willox.
She is survived by Children Robyn(Ronnie) Asher, Van(Donna) Mitchell and Penny(Brian) Qualls; special grandchildren Alex and Izzy Belcher, Josh and Zach Mitchell, Becca Cupp, Justin and Landon and Hannah Qualls; sisters Joyce Carver; Nephew Lee Carver.
The family would like to thank everyone who loved Betty and showed their love and support to us during this time. A special thanks to UT Medical Center, the medical staff, and the trauma/ICU staff for their care, guidance, and support. A celebration of life will be held on Monday November 28, 2022, at 5 to 7 pm at One Life Church, 3503 W. Emory Road, Powell, TN 37849.
